How to Use Vinegar and Baking Soda to Clean Dirty Shower Enclosures

You might wonder how deep cleaning companies in Abu Dhabi perform their magic on their clients’ homes. If you have seen them in action, you might have seen them use various types of chemicals and solutions to wow their clients with their output. However, there are some cleaning services in Abu Dhabi that still believe natural is best.

One of the most useful natural ingredient for disinfecting almost anything inside your home is vinegar. Partner it with baking soda, and you are on your way to cleaning without taking a large chunk out of your savings. Here are some tips on how to use vinegar and baking soda to clean dirty shower enclosures.

Prepare Necessary Materials

Cleaning shower enclosures with vinegar is a no-brainer. You only need to have some or all of the following materials, most of which are from your kitchen:

Vinegar

Sodium bicarbonate or baking soda

Spray bottle

Squeegee

Non-abrasive sponge

Clean towel

You may also wear a pair of gloves for better protection while cleaning.

Daily Simple Cleaning

Fiberglass shower enclosures require regular clean-up. If you fail to perform maintenance consistently, dirt and grime could easily build up overtime. Consequently, cleaning and removal of dirt and stains could take a longer time. If the enclosure has been cleaned on a regular basis, though, you may only need a few strokes to get your fiberglass enclosure neat and tidy again. In fact, just a simple wash and rinse after every use may already help prevent soap scum and mineral deposits from building up. Always wipe with a non-abrasive towel after every rinse. Using a squeegee always helps to sip away any moisture that could lead to mold and mildew formation.

Monthly Maintenance

If daily maintenance of the enclosure is not possible due to your hectic schedule, a monthly scrubbing may be done. By this time, dirt build up could have occurred, and a more tedious cleaning activity may be required. The time spent for cleaning, though, may be reduced with just white vinegar and baking soda. Really, there is no need to hire hourly maids services if you just have the time to make the vinegar-baking soda solution and apply it on your fiberglass shower enclosure.

The first thing to do is to sprinkle baking soda across the surface of the fiberglass. Follow it up by spraying vinegar until a paste is formed. With a sponge, gently spread the paste across the fiberglass surface, making sure that no area is left out. Leave the paste solution for at least an hour if there is heavy grime build-up.

When grime and stains have loosened, scrub the entire surface gently with the sponge or squeegee. Rinse with clean water afterwards. Really simple, isn’t it?

If some stains cannot be removed with the vinegar-baking solution, try cleaning with Borax and lemon. If these natural ways still do not remove the stains, then it may be time to hire the services of a cleaning company. Do not attempt to forcibly remove stubborn dirt as it may cause scratches on the enclosure’s surface.
